At long
last, after a lot of hard work and many ups and downs, One Million United is
finally born to the public. This project means a lot to me for many reasons...
To
begin, it is the first project that I truly believe in. I believe in it so much
to the point that I have invested a lot of time and resources into making it
happen. Many sleepless nights have been
allocated to thinking of all the little, impertinent, details that would help
Dave and I transmit the idea that we first came up with one night at La Cage
aux Sports. It is a great feeling to finally see it come to life and have a
concrete, potential to make a change.
The
potential impact of this project on global humanitarian aid has been a great
source of strength, perseverance and motivation to me. I feel proud to be part
of a project that will better the way people use the internet. It is great to
think that one gets the chance to be part of such a creation that has the
potential to revolutionize the use of one of the most influential marketing
medians; the internet. With all the power of reach of the internet, OMU will
have the ability to prove that people are willing to help if given a proper and
practical chance to do so. Most importantly, OMU’s ultimate prize and proof of
success would come when great minds all over the world are inspired by the idea
to come up with their own creative ways to create a sustainable trend for this
kind of project.
I think
I just fancy the idea of creating one big giant picture...! Hehehe. Seriously I
think the promising success of being able to craft that colossal picture is
awfully motivating. I mean, think of it, large corporations spend billions of
dollars every year to generate awareness! I just want to see if they are
willing to spend similar, large amounts of money, for a good cause... I think
they are. I am convinced that this project will surprise many people.
Finally,
I would like to thank everyone who helped in making OMU a reality. The list is
very long, but without those people, the reaction timer wouldn’t be rolling
right now. I would like to thank the team of programmers that believed in the
idea and never gave up! Despite our facing so many technical obstacles, the
team stood by and showed their support. I would also like to thank my parents,
my sister, her family, my brother and his family for all their support. Lastly,
I would like to thank a very beautiful and special person who has always believed
in me and supported me through all the good times and bad times...
PS:
hang in tight, we are not done yet, many more upgrades and goodies are coming
your way ;)
